What influences the final cost?
Travel: No travel surcharge for events within 25km of central Sydney. Travel outside this region is calculated at an additional rate of 81 cents per kilometre travelled.
Event duration
Optional add-ons such as branded leaderboards or custom challenges. These add-ons will certainly add the polishing touches to your experience.
Mobile Hire vs Fixed Simulator Venues
Consider the following when deciding between mobile golf simulator hire or attending a golf simulator venue.
Indoor simulator venues often charge between $60-$90 per hour per bay, which may seem reasonable until you factor in 20 or so guests. You may end up with several hours of numerous bays being hired, venue minimum spends on food and drinks and the priceless frustration of coordinating everyone to get to a fixed simulator venue.
Our Social Butterfly package at $980 brings the entire experience right to you, keeping your group together and removing all the travel and logistical issues. No venue minimums and no time wasted. For most events, mobile hire is the more practical and cost-effective choice.

Mobile Event Setup (Most Popular)
This is the self-contained pop up golf simulator that most people picture. Modern mobile simulators recreate full virtual golf experiences through precision tracking and high-quality visuals. We provide a full enclosure, commercial-grade impact screen, professional matting and a calibrated launch monitor system. One of the best advantages of modern golf simulator equipment is they’re actually more flexible than you’d think.
Space and layout required:
Height: 2.6 metres (standard ceiling height in most venues)
Width: 3 metres from end to end
Depth: 4 metres from screen to the edge of the hitting mat
One standard power outlet
Level ground
An indoor environment is ideal for our setup but setup can be done outdoors with the proper shelter (marquee, covered terrace, undercover area).
Garage and Backyard Configurations
A double car garage or covered patio can host the same commercial-grade screen (2.6m x 3m), GSPro software with 300+ courses and accurate tracking data. Our team has set up in everything from Mosman garages to covered patios in Thornleigh. If you’re testing whether you want a permanent simulator down the track, this is the perfect starting point.
Pro tip: If your garage has 2.4 m ceilings, shorter clubs or controlled swings may be required. We’ll assess your space and be honest about what works. Our recommendation is that it’s better to know upfront rather than discover it mid-swing and down a window.
Temporary setups focus on portability and speed, whereas permanent builds suit dedicated rooms with ceiling-mounted projectors, custom lighting, acoustic treatment, and built-in hitting platforms. The Pop Up Golf has some exciting updates and partnerships coming soon to this space. Send us an enquiry↗ to be the first to know our upcoming news!
What You Get In Every Hire Package
Hiring a simulator is more than just renting golf equipment. The experience is fully hosted by professionals for you and your mates to experience.
Core Equipment (Included)
Launch monitor technology: We use either photometric or radar-based launch monitors depending on your environment. Both launch monitors deliver accurate data on carry distance, ball speed, spin rate, launch angle and side spin. Not sure what the difference is between launch monitors, click here for more information ↗.
Impact screen and enclosure: A professional 2.6m x 3m impact screen with full safety netting creates a contained hitting bay. This isn’t a bedsheet. It’s Australian sourced and quality material that is designed for repeated high-speed impacts.
Hitting mat and turf: Premium and quality.
Short-throw projector: Provides crisp, bright projection even with ambient lighting.
Two sets of right-handed clubs: Regular and soft flex, so different swing speeds are covered.
Specialty club options: Kids’, ladies’ and left-handed clubs on request. Our competitors charge $100 extra for this. We don’t, it’s included because events should be accessible to all.
Software and Gameplay
GSPro Simulation Software ↗: with 300+ courses including Pebble Beach, St Andrews and Augusta National. We’ll ask you prior to your event if there are any specific courses that you want included as well!
Real-time data: Each shot displays carry distance, total distance, ball speed, club speed, launch angle, spin rate and shot shape.
Interactive minigames and competitions: We run engaging formats throughout your booking such as Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Single-Hole challenges.
And here’s something that our competitors charge extra for: we include custom prizes for minigame winners. These could be gift cards, golf accessories or branded items, we sort it out as part of your package.
Send us photos or measurements if your space is unusual. Most locations are workable! For more details on individual packages and customisation options, visit our services page ↗.
Choosing the Right Package For Your Event
Corporate Team building
Best: The Social Butterfly (4 hours)
Four hours lets you run structured competitions, mix minigames with casual play, and accommodate larger teams with proper rotations. Corporate groups love the combination of friendly competitions and relaxed networking. Team-based longest drive competitions are really popular here.
Milestone Birthdays
Best: 2 hours for small groups; 4 hours for larger parties
Birthdays benefit from the “drop-in, play a few holes, grab a drink, come back” flow. While two hours helps everyone to have a swing, four hours tends to be more casual and easier for spectators to join in. The most popular format for birthdays tend to be Closest to the Pin minigames.
Community Events and Festivals
Best: The Social Butterfly or The Ultimate
High rotation is key so we manage queues and keep rotations fast with minigames and single-hole challenges, creating a spectator-friendly experience. Longer formats tend to really shine here, specifically, leaderboard competitions that run throughout the day paired with fast-moving minigames.
Market organisers, sporting associations, and Sydney event blogs looking to feature unique entertainment ideas are welcome to reach out about partnership opportunities that may be available.

-
Minimum 2 weeks, but 6 - 8 weeks is ideal for peak season (September - March). Last minute bookings may work depending on availability - Always worth asking!
-
Yes, but we need proper cover (marquee, terrace roof, solid shelter) to protect equipment from weather and ensure screen visibility. Direct sunlight washes out projection, and rain could damage our electronics.
-
If your outdoor space has adequate cover, we’d like to proceed as planned. If weather compromises setup safety or guest experience, we’ll work with you to reschedule or move to an indoor backup location.
-
The impact screen is high quality and reinforced to significantly dampen sound. Indoor setups tend to contain sound better than outdoor, but neither environment is disruptive in residential or venue environments.
-
Not at all! We include kids’ clubs and run simplified minigames that focus on fun over technique. Children as young as 8 can participate safely with supervision. The immediate feedback will keep your kids engaged, even if they’ve never touched a club.
-
We cover all Sydney metro areas. Travel within 25km of central Sydney incurs no extra fees. Beyond that, we calculate a reasonable travel charged based on distance.
-
We carry public liability insurance for all events. If your venue requires a certificate of currency, let us know when booking and we’ll provide it.
-
Absolutely! Many serious golfers prefer to test out their own equipment in different environments. Our clubs are there as backup or for guests who don’t have their own.
